AbrasaPipe® is a general-purpose chrome-carbide overlay pipe suitable for application in various positions, offering high impact and abrasion resistance. Stemming from the long-term success of AbrasaPlate®, AbrasaPipe® is hardfaced mild steel pipe that delivers many times longer life than standard mild steel pipe, with a chrome carbide overlay engineered for excellent smoothness, hardness, and abrasion resistance.
What is AbrasaPipe® made from?
AbrasaPipe® is hardfaced mild steel pipe, featuring a chrome carbide overlay that shares the same proven composition behind the long-term success of AbrasaPlate®.
How much longer does AbrasaPipe® last compared to standard mild steel pipe?
AbrasaPipe® offers many times longer life than mild steel pipe, thanks to its chrome carbide overlay's smoothness, hardness, and abrasion resistance.
Is AbrasaPipe® available with flanges?
Yes — AbrasaPipe® is available either as straight pipe, or with custom or standard flanges already fitted.
What industries has AbrasaPipe® been used in successfully?
AbrasaPipe® has had significant success in underground mining and cement applications, where the cost of replacing worn-out pipe is far higher than the cost of the pipe itself.
Key Features
- General-purpose chrome-carbide overlay — suitable for application in various positions, not limited to a single orientation or use case
- High impact and abrasion resistance — built on the proven chrome carbide overlay technology behind AbrasaPlate®
- Many times longer life than mild steel pipe — significantly reduces the frequency of pipe replacement in abrasive service
- Excellent smoothness, hardness, and abrasion resistance — the chrome carbide overlay is engineered to deliver all three properties together
- Flexible flange options — available as straight pipe, or with custom or standard flanges already fitted
Proven in Demanding Applications
AbrasaPipe® has already had significant success in applications including underground mining and cement, where the cost of replacing worn-out pipe is far higher than the cost of the pipe itself. Using AbrasaPipe® means customers can rest easy, knowing they have the longest life pipe product available.
Applications
brasaPipe® is suited to:
- Underground mining pipeline systems
- Cement industry material handling
- Any abrasive pipeline application where replacement cost and downtime far exceed the cost of the pipe itself
- Installations requiring custom or standard flange fitment

White Iron Wear Parts
High Chrome white-iron castings are frequently used for wear-resistant applications including high-impact and moderate abrasion. Standard cast wear parts consist of the hard wear material brazed onto a mild steel backing, which can then be welded onto the wearing component. Chock blocks and wear buttons come in a range of standard sizes, and are available ex-stock. These are an economical option compared to AbrasaPlate, which has better abrasion resistance.
